GameDay vol.2 - Together

Hey team,

After today’s game, I need you to hear me loud and clear… we left a lot on that field. We made mental mistakes, and at times, we allowed ourselves to get outworked. As coaches, we made some calls we would take back and didn’t adjust at times like when they went no huddle. What we faced was exactly what we saw on film, a dominant, physical, disciplined team that wanted to score and score a lot.

Sure, we put together some drives, but we didn’t play as a unified team. That’s the hard truth! But let me make this clear, I still have immense confidence in our capabilities. I’ve seen what we CAN do when we play sound football. When we communicate and execute our assignments, we are unstoppable! We can line up against anyone in our class and punch them in the mouth, play after play! When we are at our best.

We need to stand strong through these hard times. When the pressure mounts, we must compress tighter together, not fracture apart. We can’t point fingers, we need to uplift each other. Hold each other up AND be accountable! Be the support your brother can lean on when things get tough. Too many times, I’ve seen us lower our heads. And when we react submissively, we allow our opponents to steal our strength.

Think about this, if a king bowed his head, his crown would fall straight to the ground! You have to stand tall and face opposition with a relentless attitude, for all four quarters! 48 minutes! Until that scoreboard shuts off!

I believe in each one of you, but that’s not the true question. The real question is, do you believe in each other? If not, it’s time to pack your things and let the next guy show his worth. This is a short season! There’s no time to dwell on the negative! We must push positivity and build the bridges we’ll need to cross many times in the future.

Together, we can support and lead each other to the success that lies ahead! Stay together, because we are much stronger that way!

So rise up and show the world what we’re made of! Back to work on Monday!

-Coach KB
